Amanita muscaria has undergone a lot of taxonomic changes very recently. True A. muscaria only grows in far Northwest Alaska in North America.
What we know as Amanita muscaria is now known as Amanita chrysoblema, the North American Toadstool. There will be further taxonomic changes in the near future as sub-variants are renamed into their own species.
As such, two varieties of spores are offered here: Amanita chrysoblema red variant & Amanita chrysoblema yellow-orange variant. As of Nov 2024, these are the correct names to call these mushrooms.
