Oyster Mushroom Buckets
Greetings. I construct oyster mushroom buckets for local area residents year-round. They're a very low-effort way to produce a lot of fresh mushrooms. They are a good educational experience and end up cheaper per pound that the best-priced oysters you see at the store. They are made to order and take a few weeks so the sooner I know you'd like one, the sooner I can begin my work.
For the most part, they will fruit until the food is gone. After a couple rounds of harvesting ("flushes") you can remove the lid of the bucket and add a mixture of coir and vermiculite. This will continue to feed the organism and produce more mushrooms. Once the bucket is spent, you can bury the remaining block in your garden or yard, and they will fruit until all of the food is gone.
You will want to do this when there are noticeably fewer mushrooms growing from the bucket. It essentially gives them a second life and they will end up rehabilitating tough soils or serve as compost for your plants or grass.
I have a variety of commercial species and native species available. Some are better than others depending on the time of year so I encourage you to email me about availability.

I'm happy to deliver them free of charge to local Salem residents or we can meet in a very public place if you're more comfortable with that.
