I have 11 years experience foraging in Oregon and have been an outdoorsman for 35 years. The locations I take my students are very public, very safe, and are frequented by locals.
I can teach you how to remain within laws and regulations while serving as a good steward to our public lands. My goal is to help educate you on local fruits, berries and mushrooms and help you insulate yourself from poisonous lookalikes while maximizing harvests.
I teach dozens of students every year and would be honored to teach you how to successfully forage.
This certificate can be redeemed any time in 2026. Yellow morels begin around March 1st, followed by black morels and spring kings April 15th. Our coastal forests begin fruiting mushrooms and berries May to July. In August, lobsters and chanterelles begin at higher elevations and select wetter coastal areas. The North Oregon coast begins in September and coastal foraging for porcini, chanterelles, lobsters and matsutake begins shortly after. Porcini more or less ends around Thanksgiving and sometimes matsutake persist into the second week of December.
After the gift is presented, have the recipient reach out to me via email so we can find the best fit for them. Customers who redeem gift certificates are prioritized for scheduling and get first grabs at my seasonal availability.
