Dried Chicken of the Woods - Laetiporus sulphureus- 4oz

Laetiporus sulphureus is a delicious gourmet mushroom commonly referred to as Chicken of the Woods. It grows in Oregon on hardwoods along our rivers. Namely, oak, big leaf maple and cottonwoods.

The texture can be less than desirable to some. I prefer pulverizing it to a powder in a coffee grinder. Then we add it to ramen, soup, stews and gravy. It makes a great gluten-free thickener.

the flavor is out of this world and it is entirely possible to enjoy this mushroom without having to endure their tough texture.
