Lepista nuda, the Wood Blewit, is a delicious and gorgeous mushroom that prefers mixed hardwood and pine forests in the Pacific Northwest. I found these growing in a scotchbroom grove between pines that were fruiting porcini.
They can be grown in outdoor patches much like Wine Cap mushrooms but may take an additional year to fruit.
