They are now referred to as\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eAmanita chrysoblema\u003c\/em\u003e, or the North American Fly Agaric.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNothing has fundamentally changed about the mushrooms themselves\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e. They are still the same mushrooms they have always been - we just call them something else. They still contain ibotenic acid and muscimol. They do NOT contain amatoxins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have a red variant, an orange variant, a red-orange variant and a yellow-orange variant. As more samples are collected and genetically sequenced, it is likely these fungi will have new names also.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you've been buying \u003cem\u003eA muscaria\u003c\/em\u003e from vendors in America, you've really been buying mushrooms now known as \u003cem\u003eA chrysoblema\u003c\/em\u003e.
