Come join us on Sat. Sept 14th at 1:30-3:30 at the Salem Public Library in Anderson Room A for an introduction to foraging course!

I am a local forager and mushroom farmer seeking to help the community with mushroom foraging. I have been an outdoorsman my whole life and have spent the last decade foraging in the Pacific Northwest.

This free community event seeks to help educate local residents on food safety, park safety, mushroom identification, and how to be a good steward to our public lands. My goal is to help educate beginners on some of our well-known and lesser-known mushrooms. If time allows, I may expand into some mushroom gardening and cultivation.

You will have time to ask questions during the lecture and there will be a followup Q&A session. I will be providing a summary of my notes via email by request after the event so there will be no need to absorb everything immediately.
The lecture is tailored toward beginners but I will be able to help the most experienced foragers with drought hunting, microclimates and our new weird bumper crop mini-seasons.

There is room for 57 people and I can expand future lectures to a larger room if needed. I hope to schedule another event mid-season. I'm working on securing insurance and permits for forays.

You can reserve your spot by arriving at 1:00 to help me setup tables and chairs.
